About Our Equipment

As an independent alarm company, Redwood Security is not limited in its selection of alarm equipment. We select devices and partner only with established manufacturers with proven, reliable products that are best suited for each application, including primarily Resideo products. Whether residential, commercial, or industrial, each installation can be customized to the customers needs with a wide selection of reliable, programmable panels and equipment.

We install both wired and wireless systems, and have developed concealed wiring techniques that are unique in the industry. Aesthetics are taken into account on every installation by balancing location, visual impact, and equipment selection. Our technicians are unrivaled in their ability to design, install, and maintain your security system.

Redwood Security also owns and operates its own state of the art U.L. listed central station in Marin County which monitors, receives, and processes all dispatches and service calls 24/7. Redwood Security customers benefit from having full ownership over their security equipment, not a lease, and no long-term service contracts.

The push-button keypad is the hub of your alarm system that has many functions.

  • Arming & Disarming your security system.

  • Changing, Adding, or Deleting Code Numbers when necessary.

  • Monitored System: When the alarm system is activated, a message is transmitted to the Redwood Security's central station and the appropriate agency is dispatched.

  • Entrance-Exit Time Delay: A delay time is programmed into the system to allow the operator to leave after the system is turned on. Upon entry, a soft tone will remind the user to turn off the system prior to the alarm activating.

  • Stay Command: While using the 'stay' command, the perimeter doors, windows, and glass break detectors can activate while leaving the interior motion detectors deactivated. All family members, including pets, can move freely throughout the home and sleep soundly at night knowing the home's perimeter is protected.

  • Panic Button: Press star (*) + pound (#) on your keypad to activate an emergency panic alarm, even if the alarm system has been turned off. â€‹Portable Panic Buttons are small transmitters that can be carried in a purse or worn as a pendant that will activate the panic alarm when within 100 feet of the premises.

Key Products

Door & Window Contact Sensors

Contacts are concealed magnetic switches that detect the opening of a door, slider, or window. Double-position contacts contain a second magnetic switch, so that a sliding door or window can be partially opened for ventilation while the system is armed.

Flood & Leak Detectors

Water leaks caused by leaky pipes, toilets, water heaters, fridges, sinks, washing machines, or severe weather in basements, garages or attics can lead to expensive fixes. A flood detector senses the presence of water where it shouldn't be, triggering an alarm to immediately alert you and prevent damage.

Glass Break Detectors

Glass Break Detectors activate the alarm system when detecting the exact frequency of the sound of breaking glass of any type– plate, tempered, laminated, wired, film-coated, and sealed insulating glass. Time, frequency, and amplitude characteristics are evaluated for signal qualification, and can be set to match the acoustics of the room.

Fire Alarm System

A fire system is active 24/7 and activates an audible alarm and notify the fire department even if the security system is not "armed." A fire system consists usually of heat, smoke, and/or carbon monoxide detectors.

Infrared Motion Detectors

Infrared Motion Detectors senses motion based on changes in the background heat signature, and can "see" or detect movement by an intruder without needing a camera lens. Pet Exclusion Motion Detectors are designed to accommodate the movement of pets within the protected area.

Personal Panic Buttons

Portable Panic Buttons are small transmitters that can be carried in a purse or worn as a pendant, increasing your safety and accessibility to your system. When pressed, they activate an instant panic alarm immediately, when within 100ft of the premises.

Fire System Devices

Smoke Detectors detect smoke, and are often installed in hallways outside of bedrooms, or throughout key rooms or commercial spaces.

Heat Detectors detect high temperatures, or temperatures that are rising unusually fast. These are installed in areas where a fire is most likely to occur, such as kitchens, furnace and water heater rooms, laundry rooms, garages, and rooms with fireplaces.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors alert when carbon monoxide is detected the air, which is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, poisonous gas. These alarms provide an early warning in the event of dangerous leaks, which are usually caused by furnaces, dryers, fireplaces, or chimneys.

Sprinkler Flow Detectors monitor the flow of water to sprinkler heads. In the event of a fire, when water begins to flow through the fire sprinkler system, an alarm signal is sent to the central station to immediately dispatch the fire department.
